Copyright and DMCA Policy
Last updated October 19, 2026.
Oruqo respects intellectual property rights and expects its users to do the same. We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). Users may post photos and other content in Oruqo (for example lost-pet pages and Circle Hub posts), so please only upload content you own or have permission to share.
Sending a notice
If you believe content on oruqo.com or in the Oruqo app infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent (below). Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your notice must include:
(1) a physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on the owner’s behalf; (2) identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed (or, if several works are covered by one notice, a representative list of them); (3) identification of the material claimed to be infringing and information reasonably sufficient for us to locate it (a link is best); (4) your name, address, telephone number and email address; (5) a statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and (6) a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
Before sending a notice, please consider whether the use could be a fair use or otherwise permitted. A notice that does not substantially include these elements may not be acted on. When we receive a valid notice, we will act expeditiously to remove or disable access to the material, notify the user who posted it, and may share a copy of the notice (including your name and contact details) with that user so they can respond.

Counter-notice
If your content was removed or disabled and you believe this was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same designated agent. Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3), it must include: (1) your physical or electronic signature; (2) identification of the material that was removed or disabled and the location where it appeared before it was removed; (3) a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification of the material; and (4) your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if your address is outside the United States, any judicial district in which Oruqo may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice or that person’s agent.
When we receive a valid counter-notice, we will promptly send a copy (including your name and contact details) to the person who sent the original notice and tell them that we will restore the material in 10 business days. We will restore the material, or stop disabling access to it, no less than 10 and no more than 14 business days after we receive the counter-notice, unless our designated agent first receives notice from the original complainant that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain you from engaging in the infringing activity.
Repeat infringers
Oruqo has adopted and reasonably implements a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers. We keep a record of valid notices against each account. Users who receive multiple valid notices, or whose infringement is clear or willful, may have content removed and their account suspended or permanently terminated, at our discretion. Removals that are successfully reversed by a counter-notice do not count against an account. This policy is also part of our Terms of Service.
Misrepresentation
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly and materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys’ fees. If you are unsure whether material infringes your rights, consider consulting a lawyer first.
Not legal advice
This page explains how Oruqo handles copyright notices. It is not legal advice, and we cannot advise you on your rights. We may update this policy; the date at the top shows when it last changed.
