Last updated October 19, 2026. Effective October 19, 2026.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a contract between you and Oruqo (“Oruqo,” “we,” “us”), operated by Inga Washington, Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, USA. They govern your use of oruqo.com, the Oruqo app, and related pages such as pet QR scan pages, lost-pet pages, emergency cards and shared links (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Subscription Terms, our Community Guidelines, our Acceptable Use Policy and, if you are an Oruqo Provider, our Provider Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Please read section 14 (limitation of liability), section 17 (disputes) and the Subscription Terms carefully. They affect your rights.
Oruqo helps you organize pet information such as records, reminders, documents, emergency and sitter details and memories; create lost-pet pages and flyers; connect with nearby pet owners in the Oruqo Circle Hub; and find independent shopping and service partners. Features may change, and some features may be offered as a preview or beta before they are final.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, and at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to buy a subscription. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms for you. Give accurate information, keep your password and devices secure, and tell us at support@oruqo.com if you think someone used your account. You are responsible for activity under your account.
The oruqo.com website is free. We do not sell new subscriptions or take new payments on the website. Paid memberships are sold only inside the Oruqo iPhone app as Apple in-app subscriptions, sold and billed through Apple’s App Store, and this section applies to those in-app memberships. A small number of early memberships were started on the website and billed through Stripe before web sign-up was paused; those members cancel by emailing support@oruqo.com, and we cancel the Stripe subscription for them. Cancelling keeps their account and pet records. Deleting an account does not by itself cancel a Stripe subscription, so please email us to cancel first.
Oruqo membership renews automatically until you cancel. New members get a 7-day free trial. To avoid being charged, cancel at least 24 hours before your free trial ends (this is Apple’s rule). If you do not, your paid membership starts and is charged automatically at the plan you chose: 1–5 pets $19.99/month or $199/year; 6–10 pets $24.99/month or $249/year; 11–15 pets $29.99/month or $299/year, plus any applicable tax. It renews at the same length (monthly or yearly) until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in your Apple ID subscription settings (iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions), at least 24 hours before the renewal date. If you need help, email support@oruqo.com. Cancellation stops future charges; you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Charges, renewals and refunds for App Store memberships are handled by Apple; request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com, and email us if you need help. Full details, including price changes, are in our Subscription Terms and Refund Policy. You will never be charged unless you clearly agree to a paid plan after its price and renewal terms are shown to you.
You keep ownership of the photos, text, records and other content you add (“Your Content”). You give Oruqo a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process, display and share Your Content only as needed to run the Service and provide the features you use. For content you choose to make public or share (such as lost-pet pages, flyers, shared links, Circle Hub posts and Oruqo Circle Chat messages), that license includes showing it to the people and places you chose (for the community chat, the other members of Oruqo Circle Chat), including social media sites when you use a share button. The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies others already shared or downloaded, and backups that are overwritten on a rolling basis. You confirm you own or have permission to use Your Content and that it does not violate anyone’s rights or the law.
The Oruqo Circle Hub (the neighborhood feed and Oruqo Circle Chat, the community chat) and lost-pet features include content from other users. The Circle Hub Group Rules, which you agree to by tapping “I agree to the rules” before you join the community chat or post, and our Community Guidelines are part of these Terms. Posts and messages must be about animals, and there is zero tolerance for objectionable or abusive content or abusive users. We record the date, time and version of the rules you agreed to, and if the rules change we may ask you to agree again before your next post or message.
The community chat is open, not private. Oruqo Circle Chat is one community chat for everyone in Oruqo Circle who loves pets; you join it automatically when you agree to the rules, and you can leave at any time. Every member can see the other members’ display names and every message in the chat. There are no private or direct messages between members. Do not post anyone’s phone number, address, email or photos without their permission; links and contact details are blocked, and a basic filter hides some swear words, but it will not catch everything.
No veterinary advice and no animal sales. What other members say is their own experience and opinion, not veterinary advice from Oruqo; always check with your veterinarian (see section 7). Buying, selling, breeding for money, rehoming for a fee, or advertising animals, and any animal cruelty or harmful content, are not allowed.
Reports, blocking and our rights. You can report any post, message or member and block members so you no longer see their posts and messages. Oruqo may, at its discretion and without notice, review, hide or remove any content, remove members from the community chat, and suspend or ban accounts from the Circle Hub for a period of time or permanently. Repeat violations lead to a ban. We aim to act on reports within 24 hours. We do not pre-screen all content, and content from other users is their responsibility, not Oruqo’s. Be careful when meeting anyone in person.
Lost-pet pages, flyers, pet QR codes and scan pages, “Call the owner” and “Message the owner” buttons, nearby alerts and sighting messages are tools to help spread the word. Oruqo makes no promise or warranty that a lost pet will be found or returned, that anyone will scan a QR code or contact you, that alerts or messages will be delivered or seen, or that information from finders is accurate or honest. Oruqo is not a shelter, animal control, rescue or emergency service. Also contact local shelters, animal control, your microchip company and your veterinarian, and call 911 or local authorities in an emergency. Never pay a “reward” or fee to someone you have not verified, be alert for scams, and meet in a safe, public place. You are responsible for what you publish on a lost-pet page, including any phone number or location you choose to show.
Oruqo is an organizing tool. It is not veterinary care and does not diagnose, treat or give medical advice for any animal. Always follow your licensed veterinarian’s instructions, and in an emergency contact a veterinarian or emergency clinic right away. Reminders can be delayed or missed because of device settings, connectivity or third-party services, so keep your own record of critical medication schedules. See Not Veterinary Advice.
You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter, including phone numbers, health, medication and allergy information that sitters, providers or finders may rely on, and for keeping it up to date. Keep your own copies of important records such as vaccination certificates and prescriptions. Oruqo does not verify information you add, and is not responsible for decisions others make based on it.
If you share pet details with a sitter or anyone else through the Share button or an emergency card, you choose what to share, who gets it and how long a share link works. Anyone with the link can see what you shared, without an account, until it expires or you turn it off. If you choose “Let them help with care”, the person can also mark medications and reminders as done (which updates your pet’s records) and leave notes for you; they cannot edit or delete your pet’s profile or records. Only share links with people you trust.
Pet QR codes. Each pet gets its own Oruqo QR code automatically when you add the pet (on the Wallet Card and the Pet Passport). Anyone who scans it sees a public page with the pet’s photo, name and breed, the word “Microchipped” if a chip number is saved, your first name, a “Message the owner” form and, if you typed a phone number on the Wallet Card, a “Call the owner” button. Health records, your address, the pet’s birthday, vet and chip number are never shown on that page. Our Privacy Policy explains this in detail.
Oruqo Providers. Oruqo registers and adds each provider itself and assigns one group (Medical, Grooming, Care or Behavior). When a signed-in provider scans a pet’s QR code, they see only the information Oruqo has set for that group, so they can care for the pet. Oruqo, not each owner, decides which information each group sees. By adding a pet and using its QR code you agree that registered Oruqo Providers who scan it may see that information while the pet’s Wallet Card is on. This is different from the Share button, where you choose the information and how long it is shared. You can turn the pet’s Wallet Card off to stop all provider access right away (providers then see only the public page anyone sees), or email support@oruqo.com to turn off the pet’s QR code or remove a pet’s data. “Registered Oruqo Provider” only means Oruqo added the business and its contact email. Oruqo does not check providers’ licenses, qualifications, insurance, background or safety, or the quality of their services, is not a party to any agreement between you and a provider, and is not responsible for providers’ services or conduct.
Providers’ duties. Providers may use the information they see only to care for that pet and to contact its owner about that care, must keep it confidential, and must not copy, sell, share or use it for marketing. These duties and the rest of the provider rules are in the Provider Terms, which providers accept before they can see any pet information. If a provider breaks them, Oruqo may pause or remove the provider.
Referral links. Providers may hand out Oruqo referral cards and QR codes. If you sign up through one, Oruqo counts the sign-up for that provider (see the Privacy Policy).
Follow our Acceptable Use Policy. Do not use the Service for unlawful, abusive or fraudulent activity, to upload content you have no right to share, to interfere with or scrape the Service, or to access other people’s accounts or data.
The Service links to independent stores and service providers (for example retailers, pharmacies, groomers, sitters, boarding and insurers). They are not controlled by Oruqo. Their prices, availability, products, prescriptions, services, payment, shipping, returns, warranties and terms are their responsibility, and your purchase or booking is between you and them. Oruqo earns commissions from some links at no extra cost to you; see our Affiliate Disclosure. Brand names and trademarks shown belong to their owners and do not mean the owner endorses Oruqo. Oruqo is not an insurance agent or pharmacy; see our Insurance Disclaimer. Oruqo is not a pharmacy or a seller: it does not sell, prescribe or dispense medications and does not check how any retailer handles prescriptions. Each retailer sets its own prescription policy, and some may not ask for one. Only give your pet medications your veterinarian has prescribed or approved, follow your veterinarian’s and the label’s instructions, and check the retailer’s own terms before you buy.
We respond to copyright notices and counter-notices under our Copyright and DMCA Policy, which is part of these Terms. In appropriate circumstances we will terminate the accounts of users who are repeat infringers, as described in that policy.
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, or that it will meet your needs. It should not be your only copy of important records. Some places do not allow these exclusions, so some may not apply to you.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Oruqo and its owner, operator and providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or the loss, injury, illness or death of any animal, arising from or related to the Service, partner products or services, or content or conduct of other users, even if advised of the possibility. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid Oruqo in the 12 months before the claim or US $50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud or intentional misconduct.
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Oruqo and its owner and operator from claims, losses and costs (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from Your Content, the accuracy of information you enter, your use of the Service, your dealings with partners or other users, or your violation of these Terms or the law.
You may delete your account at any time in Settings or as described on our account deletion page. We may suspend or end access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service, users or pets. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 4, 6, 7, 9A and 13–19) survive.
Talk to us first. Before filing any claim, you agree to email support@oruqo.com with a description of the problem and to try in good faith to resolve it with us for 30 days. Either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Except for small claims, disputes will be resolved only in the state or federal courts located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, and you and Oruqo consent to those courts. To the extent permitted by law, claims must be brought individually and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class or representative proceeding. If you live in a place whose consumer laws give you the right to bring claims in your local courts or under your local law, nothing here takes that right away.
If you download Oruqo from the Apple App Store, these Terms are between you and Oruqo only, not Apple, and Oruqo (not Apple) is solely responsible for the app and its content. Your license to use the app is limited to Apple-branded devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store Terms of Service. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. If the app fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the app; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Oruqo, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection, privacy or similar claims, and any third-party claim that the app infringes intellectual property rights. You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Questions or complaints about the app go to support@oruqo.com. Google Play users: Google is likewise not a party to these Terms.
These Terms and the policies linked here are the entire agreement between you and Oruqo about the Service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a sale or reorganization of Oruqo, including to a company Oruqo’s owner forms. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, employment or agency relationship.
We may update these Terms. We will post changes here with a new date and notify you of material changes by email or in the app before they take effect. Price changes follow the notice rules in our Subscription Terms. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept them.
