What to share with a pet sitter

Clear instructions help a sitter maintain your pet’s familiar routine and know what to do when plans change.

Daily routine

List feeding amounts and times, walk or play routines, bathroom habits, sleeping arrangements, house rules, and any behaviors the sitter should expect.

Health and safety

Include medication instructions exactly as provided by your veterinarian, allergy notes, your veterinary clinic, an emergency contact, carrier or leash location, and a signed care authorization if appropriate.

Home details

Explain entry instructions, alarm information, supply locations, cleanup expectations, and how often you want updates. Share sensitive access details directly with the sitter—not in a public message.
