Delete your Oruqo account
Last updated October 19, 2026.
This page explains how to delete your Oruqo account (app and website by Oruqo, operated by Inga Washington) and the data linked to it. You do not need to reinstall the app.
Option 1: in the app or website
- Sign in to the Oruqo app.
- Open Settings.
- Choose Delete my account and confirm.
Deletion runs on our server right away. It first removes every file and photo you uploaded, in all of our storage areas, checks that none are left, and then deletes your account and records. You see a success message and are signed out only when everything is gone. If any step fails, you see an error instead, your account is not reported as deleted, our team is alerted, and we finish the deletion within 30 days (you can also try again or email us). In the Oruqo iPhone app, Settings → Delete my account works the same way.
Option 2: by email
Email support@oruqo.com from the address on your account with the subject “Delete my Oruqo account”. We may ask you to confirm the request from that address to protect your account. We complete requests within 30 days, usually much sooner, and email you when it is done.
What is deleted
- Your account and login.
- Pet profiles, health and medication notes, reminders, documents, photos, emergency and sitter details, and memories.
- Lost-pet pages you created (they stop working), sighting and tag messages, emergency cards and shared links.
- Your pets’ QR codes and Wallet Cards (scanning them stops showing your pet), and provider scan records for your pets.
- Oruqo Circle Hub posts, photos and your Circle profile.
- Every file and photo you uploaded (pet photos, documents, memories, lost-pet photos and Circle photos), in-app activity and optional analytics linked to your account, and saved shop items.
What may be kept
Copies of a lost-pet page or flyer that you or others already shared on social media or printed are outside our control. We may keep limited records only where required by law or for security and fraud prevention. If a deletion step fails, we keep a failure record with only your account ID and the failed step, so our team can finish it; it is deleted within 90 days. Billing event records from Apple and anonymous provider referral totals may be kept without your account ID. Encrypted database backups are overwritten on a rolling basis within 30 days; uploaded files are not kept in them, and we do not restore deleted accounts from them.
What other companies keep
Deleting your Oruqo account does not delete information that other companies hold under their own privacy policies: Apple (App Store purchases and subscriptions), Stripe (payment records for early website memberships) and affiliate stores and networks (your purchases with them and their cookies). Contact them directly to ask them to delete it. Anything a provider already learned or wrote down while caring for your pet is also outside our control.
Subscriptions
Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription. If you subscribed in the Oruqo iPhone app, cancel first in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions; only Apple can cancel it. If you have one of the early website memberships billed through Stripe, deleting your account cancels it right away so you are not charged again. If we cannot cancel it automatically, deletion stops and asks you to email support@oruqo.com, and we cancel it and delete your account for you. Billing records may be kept by Apple and Stripe as the law requires.
